Subway Sleuths

Dear reader,

Subway Sleuths is a mystery series starring queer detectives that reflect the diversity of New York.

Each protagonist is from a different borough. Throughout the series, their rich cultures will be woven into the world of Subway Sleuths.

The Subway Sleuth mysteries are about more than finding the answers. The characters confront both internal and external conflict as they attempt to shape their understanding of justice. Subway Sleuths presents detectives that are quite capable – each team member has skills that make them irreplaceable assets. However, they are also vulnerable and unsure.

The characters of Subway Sleuths are not typical coming of age protagonists. They are women in their twenties – and yet the series challenges the omniscience of these fictional detectives nonetheless. It challenges their emotional maturity, their susceptibility to bias, and their relationships with the systems in place.

Finally, this mystery series was written with the intent of the female gaze. Subway Sleuths is centered around women, written by a woman, for women. Moreover, the detectives of Subway Sleuths are sapphic and openly so. In Subway Sleuths, lesbians take the lead. They are the main characters, not a side plot. I am very excited to write these stories.
